1) Using splash pages

Don't let your visitors have a reason to leave the page and click the back button. Splash pages are a huge no! Why? Because you don't want to see "click here to enter" on something that you just clicked on. You have to make it easier for visitor, you want your content right there so they can decide the second if they still want to be on the website or not. 

2) Have a simple and easy navigation

You'll need a straightforward navigation menu so that anyone with even little computer experience can use your website. This is something very important, you can lose a lot of website traffic if you don't have a simple navigation menu.

3) Do not use a ton of advertisements

There are a lot of advertisements on the web that visitors see. Give them a break! You can include one or two, but be careful past three. You want to make your you don't distract them or make them angry with a lot of advertisements.

4) Avoid using audio

Avoid using audio is not a hard thing to do. If you do have audio on your website, make sure there is a clear and easy way for your visitors to disable it. That is very important as it can get annoying to hear something constantly looping on a website if you are on it for a long time. 

5) Make it easy on the eyes

Don't use eye-hurting colors, you want to make sure that your visitors eyes don't get annoyed or else they'll leave your website fast!
